It was first announced last year at the Tokyo Game Show, but since then there has been little to no news on the development of Final Fantasy X HD for PS3 and PS Vita. This has led to speculation that the project might have been canceled altogether, especially with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD and Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns all being in development and Square celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. It seemed that FFX HD had been completely forgotten.
However, a brief chat with a Square Enix employee earlier this year at the TGS has assured everyone that the game is “still in the works”. While this is a rather vague choice of words, it does give diehard fans of the game a glimmer of hope. Let’s just hope the game won’t be stuck in development for the next five years (seriously, lets hope).
